Alan Jackson to Release Second Gospel Album

The memories, they are a'precious.

Country music superstar Alan Jackson will release his second gospel album, Precious Memories, Vol. 2, on March 26. The collection of traditional hymns is the follow-up to his 2006 album Precious Memories.

"Denise and I had made a list of 30 to 40 songs to do for that first album, " Jackson said, referring to his wife. "We had so many that we didn't get to, I thought we'd go in and do a few more just the same way – heartfelt and simple."

Precious Memories was recorded as a Christmas gift for Jackson's mother, and a handful of copies were shared with close friends. Prompted and urged by family and friends, Jackson agreed to make the music available to fan and Precious Memories went on to become a double-platinum source of inspiration for countless people worldwide.

We love it when stuff like that happens. It's so natural and not forced.

Track Listing:

1.) Amazing Grace
2.) He Lives
3.) Just As I Am
4.) Love Lifted Me
5.) O How I Love Jesus
6.) Only Trust Him
7.) There Is Power In the Blood
8.) Precious Memories
9.) Sweet Hour of Prayer
10.) When the Roll is Called Up Yonder
11.) Wherever He Leads I'll Go

What worship track are you most excited about hearing?

My 2 cents on Alan Jackson's song

Non stop cringe-fest. Are there no mainstream country music songwriters who understand understatement, subtlety, and leaving somethings up to the listerners interpretation?
Jesus, it's like 'Here you go you dumbfuck listener, point A to point B, turn off your brain while I dictate to you. You're imagination and participation is no longer neccessary. You will be assimilated. YOu will grow a mullet...'
In my mind, which is only one mind so let's keep perspective here, the most moving musical tribute to 9/11 will always be Neil Young's version of 'Imagine' from the Tribute To Heroes thing

Alan Jackson Traces His Love of Bluegrass to 'The Andy Griffith Show'  — Taste of Country
Alan Jackson has spoken many times about his humble childhood. Newnan, Ga. wasn't a hotbed of live music — in fact, if the family didn't own a television set, it would have been quite a few years before the young superstar-to-be watched any banjo picking.
