justin moore off the beaten path album coverJustin Moore, an emerging artist, is proving himself worthy as an addition to the country music family. The small town, down to earth, country singer has showcased his passion for country music and is certainly on Nashville’s radar as an artist to watch. Here’s what you need to know about Justin Moore.

Born and raised in Poyen, Ark., Justin Cole Moore grew up accustomed to small town living and old-school country. Performing at school talent shows, singing gospel songs in church and studying the genre of country music entirely were the stepping-stones that lead Justin Moore to leave his hometown and move to the country music capital of the world- Nashville.

In 2008, Moore signed with Big Machine Records, affiliate of Valory Music Company, and began opening for artists including, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Trace Adkins. Later that year he debuted his first single, “Back That Thing Up, ” which landed a spot on the country Top 40 charts. After that, he released his most recognizable track, “Small Town USA, ” an autobiographical track that gives listeners an insight on Moore’s background and his down home roots.

There is more to this artist than just his music career, he is a family man as well. Moore and his wife, Kate, have two daughters, Ella and Kennedy. “We always said we wanted for or five…I don’t know if we’ll make it there, but I think we’ll definitely want to have another one. I’d love to have a boy. I’m so into sports- not that my girls can’t play sports- but I’d love to have a little boy. If it’s in the cards, great, if it ain’t, that’s fine, too, ” he tells Taste of Country. Moore has proven he is a man of balance; taking on the roles as husband, father, and a critically acclaimed country music artist.

Moore will kick off his first headlining tour Nov. 1 in Springfield, Mo., and is releasing his newest album “Off the Beaten Path, ” Sept. 17. His most recent single, “Point at You, ” is already a fan favorite, landing a spot on Billboard Hot Country Airplay’s Top 15 charts, currently holding spot number 5. With a solid fan base, a good head on his shoulders, and passion for country music, Justin Moore has definitely set a good foundation for a promising career in country music.

How can you NOT mock country music.

It's kind of like Mormonism.
When Ashton Kutcher showed up at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night, he was ostensibly there just to hand out the female vocalist of the year award. However, he managed to take everyone's minds off the nominees for a few minutes, by showing up dressed in over-the-top cowboy gear and taking a stab at singing George Strait's "I Cross My Heart."
All in good fun. Right? Well, some country stars didn't take this little performance in a lighthearted manner. The artist to whom Kutcher presented the female vocalist award, Miranda Lambert, tweeted on Monday: "Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me?"
Turns out, it wasn't just her
